The Story So Far of Beauty by Kristy

Established in 2016, Beauty By Kristy was originally a mobile beauty business, as I travelled to clients throughout Nottinghamshire out of the back of my little Ford KA. I even worked out of my own home, turning my dressing table into a nail bar! Clients started to return time and time again, which I was incredibly happy about, so I set up a small beauty room on Anglia Way in February 2017 within a big shared building. Since then, the salon has expanded multiple times, making it the welcoming beauty salon and training academy that it is today.

Staying current with beauty trends by continuously going on training courses throughout the year is extremely important to us, this keeps standards high and it keeps us up to date with fashion trends for our clients. I am always looking to expand and grow the business, with hopes to carry on building a successful team of passionate and talented therapists, all working at the same high standard as each other.

In November 2023 we expanded and moved premises to Kirkby In Ashfield. Ideally located from all directions, with plenty of local free parking and we now have disabled access, which provides greater convenience for our clients.

About Kristy

The face behind the brand, I am a bubbly, hard working, beauty loving 29 year old. Lashes, nails and brows make me very, very happy and I have a strong passion for inspiring and encouraging other beauty therapists to become their best selves.

Working in the beauty industry is my world, and it's all I've ever aspired to do! I dont remember a time before it, and if I did, it definitly wasn't filled with as many good times and laughs! I absolutely love making people feel their best selves, and being able to do this for a living is not work in my eyes. I remember when I finished school in 2010 at the age of 16, with no dreams or goals or 'get up and go' attitude. I managed to fall lucky and gained employment with local beauty salons, this really shaped me to become the therapist I am today. I was put through countless training courses, mentoring, and trusted with managerial duties. I'm very grateful for all of these opportunities, to build my experience and lead me to where I am today.

But I do have a life outside of this, in my spare time I love to spend time with my partner, friends and family. I love to keep active, I really enjoy attending yoga classes and having a hard sweaty workout in the gym first thing in the morning. I enjoy long walks most weekends, travelling and booking flights, experiencing new cultures and feeling the sun on my skin is the greatest reward!

About Kelly

I started in the beauty industry 8 years ago, in this time i have trained in many various areas of beauty and I now specialise in all things Nails, Brows & Lashes.
My passion for Beauty started way back in Primary School. I can remember being asked what I wanted to do when I was older and I would always say "Beautician".
In Secondary School in did my work experience in a salon and absolutely fell in love with the trade. From there I was offered a Sunday job where I started making cups of teas and coffee for the clients and helped around the salon such as setting up treatment rooms for the therapists.

I was thrilled when I was offered an apprenticeship and later offered a full time position. It was at this salon I met Kristy - she was my mentor. She spent many hours coaching me and helping me become the therapist I am today. I'm so pleased to be working alongside each other again.

I take pride in my craft, even in my spare time I'm practising to make sure I'm up to date in all the latest nail trends, brow treatments and lash styles. 
I love meeting new people, building relationships with clients and pampering you all.

Kelly returned to work in May 2023 after the birth of her baby girl Ophelia, you will find Kelly now working part time Monday - Wednesday 9:30 - 5pm

About Paige

From a young age I have always had a passion for the beauty industry, and in April 2018 I finally decided to act on my interests and began my beauty training, I havent looked back ever since! I have been working mobile in this time, mainly focusing on Eyelash Extension treatments and gel nails. In May 2022 I gained full time employment at Beauty by Kristy and I've loved working in the busy salon environment. 

What I love most about being a beauty therapist is making people look & feel lovely, as well as the social side, I like to have a good chit chat. I can never pick between lashes, brows & nails as my favourite treatment to do, they’re just all my favourites! I have 2 nephews, 3 & 10 months old. They are my little besties, love to spend any free time I get with them. I love all things fashion & beauty/skin care, love to watch a good reel on Instagram of Zara hauls or a make up look. ASOS is an absolute fave of mine to sit and scroll through. My music taste is extremely varied, one minute I could be listening to stormzy the next a classic Celine Dion. One of my dreams was to see Coldplay live, so I’m super excited to be seeing them in august! I love to travel and go on holiday.

I like to do lists, I used these a lot during lockdowns, helped me get through the day, even if one job was to wash my hair 😂 but yes you’ll always find a little tick list on my notes of daily or weekly bits & bobs.

You will catch me in the salon everyday apart from Wednesdays, I look forward to seeing & meeting you all.

About Amelia

I am qualified in level 2 and level 3 in beauty therapy. I joined Beauty By Kristy in May 2022 part time, and in August 2022 I became busy enough for a full time contract.
⁃ 💓The treatments I like the most are definitely anything lashes, brows and nails! I love seeing instant results and making people feel pretty!
⁃ 🏡I live at home with my mum,dad and younger sister. I also have a cockapoo called ruby - she looks like a fluffy teddy🐶
⁃ ❤️My favourite hobby is going to watch forest with my dad and sister. I have a season ticket and have been going for quite a few years now!
⁃ 🌚My biggest fear is insects. Anything that can crawl / fly petrifies me! I always say I would win I’m a celeb for being the biggest drama queen🤣 Not being able to see the bottom of the sea also scares me😫🌊
⁃ 🎶My favourite kind of music is house! I could listen to it all day! It just makes me want to get up and boogy🕺🏼
⁃ 🦋I love fashion and I’m addicted to watching peoples clothing hauls on TikTok😂. It’s definitely not healthy for my bank account! My favourite places to shop are Zara and Bershka!
